Practical Pilot Intervention Training
Theory is one thing, practice quite another. The practical pilot intervention training simulator session follows the half-day pilot intervention workshop and is an opportunity for trainees to practise the intervention models in varying situations of aircraft state and time available. Intended primarily for instructors (train the trainer), pilots of all levels can benefit from this training. In a single four-hour simulator slot, 6-8 pilots/ instructors can be effectively trained.

Pilots, Flight Instructors, Line Training Captains, Type Rating Instructors and Examiners, Synthetic Flight Instructors and Examiners, Senior Examiners.

Workshop Objectives
By the end of the Practical Pilot Intervention simulator session, participants will be able to:
- Apply a practical intervention model in varying situations of urgency and aircraft state.
- Understand the barriers to pilot intervention and apply effective techniques to ensure reliable interventions when required.
- Manage the simulator (instructors only) whilst conducting in-seat instruction.
- Deliver appropriate and realistic instruction in pilot intervention, both theory and practice (simulator), and design interventions geared toward local operations (instructor only)
Prerequisites
Whilst designed primarily for instructors, all licensed pilots can benefit from this simulator course. The content of the simulator is adjusted for applicability to pilots and instructors as required.
